A2M is a breakthrough treatment for osteoarthritis, where there is cartilage destruction within a joint. A2M is a naturally occurring plasma protein, which is derived from a blood draw. When a high concentration of A2M is injected into the joint, it can slow down the breakdown of cartilage by binding to and removing the destructive enzymes (proteases) that are damaging the cartilage and tissues.*
